Rating: 5 stars (out of 5)

This video would be ideal for anyone who already knows what basic economic terms (inflation, monetary policy, interest rates, bonds) are. If the viewer is educated in these areas, this video is very informative and very easy to understand. The video is made by a website called savingandinvesting.com and is meant to define monetary policy. In class, we covered how monetary policy can be contractionary and expansionary and what elements of the economy are altered to cause a greater flow of money or a reduced one. This video covers this as well. The narrator goes over how monetary policy keeps inflation in check and ensures steady economic growth and also explained how lower interest rates make it easier for companies to borrow and encourages growth in the economy and how higher interest rates does the opposite. He also covered the selling of secondary government debt (such as bonds) and how, when regulated, can increase or decrease inflationary pressure depending on the desired result. I would recommend this video to anyone who would like to learn more about monetary policy because I found it very informative myself. This is why I gave it a perfect rating of 5 stars.
